In some Labs it is of highest importance to have immediate access to a freezer in order to quickly freeze in the samples. If the lab only processes a limited amount of samples a day a bench top freezer could be the right choice.
It is a nice unit for applications where the user processes few samples and need a personal freezer. A bench top freezer takes up space on your bench top and it is a costly investment when looking at price per sample. This has to be taken into consideration before buying this type of freezer.
